About us

When we started assembling the first cargo bikes in the late 1970s, it was more of a dream than a business. We dreamed of changing city life in Copenhagen—giving families an alternative to cars, creating space on the streets for children, bicycles, and community. But at that time, it was difficult for many to believe in our idea. Cargo bikes were perceived as heavy and clumsy, and the car had long since won its place in the cityscape.

Nevertheless, we persevered. For us, the cargo bike was a symbol of something greater—a mode of transportation that was practical, sustainable, and provided space for socializing.

Today, we can see that the seed we planted back then has taken root far beyond the streets of Copenhagen. The cargo bike has become part of everyday life for thousands of families around the world, and the trend continues to grow. When the Christiania bike was honored with the Danish Design Center's Classic Award in 2010/2011, our idea was recognized as an icon of Danish bicycle culture—a milestone we never imagined when we started.

But even though we have grown significantly over the years, we have always remained true to the values we were founded on: honesty, respect, and community. Our workplace is driven by social responsibility – we lift together, we make decisions together, and we develop together. Our products are created with a focus on safety, quality, and durability, and we are constantly looking for new ways to improve both our bikes and the way we work.

We have achieved more than we ever dared to dream. Yet we are still driven by the same passion we had when we started out. For us, building cargo bikes makes sense – not only because they are practical, but because they represent a lifestyle of consideration, sustainability, and the joy of being together.
