About us

When we started producing cargo bikes back in the 1980s, a dream sprouted of flooding the streets of Copenhagen with cargo bikes, getting the cars out of the city and getting the kids on the cargo bike. At the time, few people believed that our idea would come to fruition; on the contrary, we faced resistance as the cargo bikes were perceived as heavy, they took up space on the cycle paths, and then the car was invented. 

We couldn't even imagine that our then fragile idea is now approaching reality and slowly becoming a world-spanning trend. In 2010/2011 we were honored with icon status for Danish design when the Christiania bike was awarded the Danish Design Center's Classic Award. A recognition that helps to mark our idea as one of the most significant icons in Danish cycling culture.

Since our beginnings back in the 1970s, we have grown considerably and we still hold on to those good values. We always strive to be honest and to treat everyone with respect. At the same time, we value a collective and socially responsible workplace. We share the workload and make decisions together. Our work is always based on producing and developing solid products with an eye for safety, quality, durability and honesty. We are constantly seeking to develop our workplace and our products, which undergo regular upgrades and improvements.

Although we are further along with our idea than we dared to hope for, we are still passionate about promoting this development, our workplace and our products. We think it makes sense and good sense to produce the cargo bike. It offers a myriad of benefits, not to mention being a sustainable mode of transportation that promotes good and healthy values.
